Trying to decide to put verm in WBS or not

I have quart jars and a couple of large spawn bags for my WBS that I am currently simmering.
Would it be wise to put some verm in with it since they are larger containers and will take longer to colonize?
I can't decide.

Sure..
Throw in a cup full of verm in that soak.. it does help equalize your water content !!! it won't cause any harm.

I have never added verm OR gypsum to my WBS, and it works perfect every time. Shakes perfectly too! Whatever works best for you is most important, everyone has their own steps.

I wait until after simmering when its straining, then mix in dry verm. Helps even out water content more. If you add it during the soak, it works..but then it can still get you too wet of grains which a problem people often have.

If you never had trouble with your wbs being to DRY. You don't need it. If your bags / jars get a bit dry & stall. Some verm added, may resolve that. I don't add any. Never had the need to, as bags / jars colonize fine - without it.

I too was "considering" trying this, sounded interesting . But .......
Why fix it if it is not broken ?
Hell I have hard enough time thinking of soaking or simmering first
Dump it all in , cook it up , inoc ASAP and get ready for second stage Sometimes being a simple man has advantags huh?

The reason I started doing it was to stretch out my rye. I started throwing in WBS and verm. I also fruited directly off of it and it makes the casings able to be dunked (and do some good). I had excellent results with the fruiting and colonizing. And I only have to let my grains drip about 10 minutes..then add verm and mix for 10 minutes and its perfect water content. Cheaper then rye and adds some depth and water when you fruit.
Now though...I'm switching to bulk..in the process of it now...I probably will be stopping simmering and adding verm and probably just be using WBS...its a different story when you fruit directly off the grains though. What you do with them has a hand in how you should prep them.

Always had h/poo & compost as bulk sub, so never fruited directly off grains. What you say - sounds good - if you do fruit off grains, as would allow for more re/hydration = bigger second flushs.
