Verpa finds?
    #3858647 - 03/02/05 05:32 PM (19 years, 1 month ago)

Hopefully more northwest showers will bless an early verpa season. If it keeps raining Im planning on checking a couple places, anyone find any yet?

hrmm, nope, wasn't me.

though if the forecast pans out like they say it will, I will probably start looking for half free morels next weekend.  never found them this early up here before, but everything looks right for them to start very soon, I'm just waiting for the temps to get up past 70 for a couple days...  pics will be posted when I find some .

Well my bad, I thought I had seen someone who had, and may have gotten one of your find posts mixed.

Went out to some of the best Verpa spots I know of. None.

Found a couple awesome oyster clusters growing on the underside of a huge peice of driftwood (cottonwood log). If it doesnt rain soon in the portland area Verpa season may skip that area this year.

I will also be hunting for Morels fairly soon DH. Hope the weather gets better....
