interesting idea, but the glass would crack and explode at such pressure (15psi), unless is a some special kind of glass.

I don't think the metal lids could withstand that kind of pressure difference. When we pressure cook them they get 15psi on all sides. With that the lid would get 15psi on one side and regular atmospheric pressure on the outside. But while your modifying the lid to hold in the pressure why not just make it more durable at the same time.

what happens when you stick metal in the microwave? ...better yet.... what happens if you stick a jar full of substrate, capped with a metal lid that can withstand up to 15psi, and cooked in the microwave?........LOOKOUT!!! MYCO-BOMB!!!

i think the jars would crack (could be wrong)... because for them not to, the pressure must be 15 psi inside and outside of them. otherwise you would need a modified lid, and a modified jar that will not pop the lid once the pressure rises.
He somehow manages to breathe in his sepia, wounded-tea, liquid ambiance suspension.

put a balloon/condom on top of the jar and stick it in a microwave it will get to about 103C with no moisture loss if done right
