Pics? If you really were interested you would have seen the log in the pic & growlog forum.
To penlight: I know that certain molds can be harmfull. But healthy mushrooms without any mold are just that >>> healthy. Never heard of greenmold being dangerous to humans either.
Working on agar with wild prints is one big rescue-case after all as well. Transfer the healthy pieces, toss the contaminated materials. Thats what I did with my straw. And as I said, 3 flushes already.

trich, is, to the best of my understanding, "harmless", but it can be very easily confused with asperigillus=very harmful

good call, but the non sporulating asperigillus is not bright white like the tricho.
I am not advicing to grow contams in any way. But it can be worth wile now and then to save some of your growth. IMMMMMMHO

I have found a piece of contamed millet when casing and just chucked as much of it away as I could and cased as planned...it recovered fine....with burma I just leave teh contamed jars(as long as they aren't TOO bad) I've seen it kill green, white, black mold and bacteria contams as well

to avoid haveing to do this one could make up twice as much jars as they need so they can toss the contams

when the grain is spawned t straw, and then the contams occur you dont avoid that by having more jars. what you CAN do is use much spawn to speed up the colonisation of teh straw.

try breathing the spores for a bit, return and tell me how harmless it is.

though salt may kill the contam, if it sporulates in a ubiquitous manner, then you are fighting a losing battle. thet's where i went wrong the first time. my dumb ass was getting up close and personal with mycotoxins(penecillium)cutting, salting, cauterizing... to no avail either. every one lost the battle. not saying that contams can't be dealt with, simply that they should be properly identified before even trying to take it out of a jar.

salt just covers and stalls the visible growth, and in many cases it dries the area that it's been placed, but the vast majority of contams will travel under the surface and spring up elsewhereit's one of the reasons I'm an advocate of tossing it out at the first sign of contamination.
