Is this mycelium or mold?
    #3864581 - 03/03/05 09:27 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Hi,

Your advice is much appreciated. I'm not particularly experienced with this.

Cheers,
doublejointed

I see mycelium fuzz around the bases of your mushrooms which is fine; however the area at the bottom left of photo looks questionable. What is that, a cut away area of cake?

Thanks for your input, Diver. What you see on the bottom left is some stuck-on vermiculite.

My memory isn't too good anymore.. but I remember my cakes in the past (3 years) as not having soft(ish) white fuzz on them. One of them stems almost looks hairy. I'll try to get a pic here so you can see what I mean.

Ah ok, thought so. In that case, you're fine. The fuzzy bases is a sign of high humidity; it's definitely not contam related.
