Cyan's are dinky to begin with, that must take some major patience...
Good Luck!

How many days has it been since Bob first noticed that they were showing signs of pinning? They are looking pretty tiny, even for pan cyans...
What was used for substrate and casing?

Subtrate is WBS. I was experimenting with a couple of different ideas so don't flame me for being a tard about this, but this case had all the WBS layed in it like a case without poo. The, b/c I ran out of poo on my other cases, I only patched with poo and poured som poo juice on it. Then I cased with coir and verm. I didn't even think this one was going to do anything. They are Copelandia)Panaeolus Cyanescen-Hawaii from THE. The little guys are about 2 days(a little less I think) old. They are about twice the size now. Being that I screwd around with the poo, I don't think they are going to be very impressive. I've got another case going that hasn't pinned yet but should be any day. They really haven't been hard to do. I wasn't super santitary and I didn't really baby them any more than the cubies. It's probably too early to celebrate. I'll let you know how big they get and if the other case works out. Wish me luck.

Yeah I hear you get like 200 shrooms (if you do it well) and it adds up to like 2 grams dried. Well worth the try though! Hope to see something nice come off your poo
How many other places can you say that last sentence to somebody?

Yep, that explains it. But maybe the poo juice will kick-in any moment now! <grinz>

Nothing wrong with experimenting... you'd be a 'tard for not trying. Plus, looks like you've got a multilateral approach going, with the other casing, which is cool. Realize that you've already gotten further than many other people have after their first-plus someodd attempts w/ pan cyans!

Lots of Luck!
Can't wait to see how everything progresses.

Hopefully I can get prints off the small guys if nothing else. I wasn't to stoked to do Pan. Cyan.s b/c I didn't think I would be anywhere near successful. Now I want to try again. I'll post the latest pic of them tomorrow.

Right-on brutha...
Something tells me - some sort of tripper's crazy psychic inner sixth sense - or something, that pan cyans are the way to go.
We just need a fool-proof tek that normalizes the cultivation process into something that pulls off consistently lucrative results.
There's a couple decent/helpfull teks out there already, but none of them seem to hit the sweet spot. We need a more focused, collaborative effort.
Besides your friend Bob, I've seen that there's at least 3 others here at the shroomery who are currently attempting or know someone who's attempting - or about to attempt - a pan cyan cultivation.
Spending some extended, concentrated effort just might produce the sorts of results that are necessary to take pan cyans out of niche status.
Just blathering. Feeling particularly good tonight.

Yeah, I agree that a good tek is needed. The ones on this site are fairly vague compared to the cubie teks. Hell, I don't even know if I'm successful yet.

Yeah, I would love to give the copelandias a try. I got a feeling they would respond real good to a good amount of vermiculite mixed in with the dung and layerd deep, just like cubensis. I'd post a grow log if I could get a print (or better yet, a syringe)
I got a feeling these are pretty much strictly head stash, but I still wanna give 'em a go.

The teks on this site for Pan cyan can't be any more clear.
People just don't follow them.
Copelandias are not hard. You need to start with good genetics, and follow the teks.
Manure substrate free of competitors thin casing layer no misting once buttons form.
Everything else will work like cubensis. You definetly want temps to be above 75F and below 90F.
The only failure I ever have with pans is due to contamination or genetics of the strain/substrain. Typically this type of genetic failure results in very few, malformed, or underdeveloped mushrooms.
The person above was succesful he just ignored the FACT that you need to use manure as the primary ingredient to have consistent results with minimal contamination, and get full size shrooms. Straw works, but it contaminates alot easier if you don't have a VERY CLEAN work environment. Grain produces undersize shrooms.
Una tek at mush mush works great if you like straw and can keep it clean. Otherwise, use the BJ formula and keep it simple.
The teks are here. They are not written for people without any experience. They are written for people who have grown cubensis, and can take most things for granted.
Do we have to show you pictures of jars, pressure cookers, syringes, manure, straw, scalpels, gloves, glove boxes, boxes, containers, rubbermaids, etc...
YOU can grow cubenis. The steps needed to convert to Copelandias are posted in many threads, and in the faq. If you can't follow directions, does it really matter how complete the tek is.
ymhrswrider you were succesful on grain. Now use the BJ substrate in the faq, and you will have fully grown and mature fruits with spores, if you don't mist the buttons once they have formed.
