sterile business...
    #3862242 - 03/03/05 02:04 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

if one does not have a damn place in the house that is clean, would it be advisable to fruit within a tupperware or something within a larger cooler, and try to keep the inside of the cooler damn clean with lysol, etc to cut down on contams during air exchanges, or by birthing would the mycelium be a strong enough force to fight off such airborne contams? It seems like having the fruiting chamber within another clean container would be just like another line of defense against contams, but is it worth the trouble? It seems that if done this way, equipment that needs to stay clean could stay in the cooler or whatever , all lysol'd and what-not, in the space not taken up by the fruiting chamber. But maybe i'm dreamin...

Once they hit the fruiting stage they are contamination resistant for the most part. Just keep the room clean as in Dr. office clean.
