Same as all jars, Wait until it's completly white.
You can shake after there's some white to help distrubute the my.c for faster colonization but i wouldn't shake more than once cuz the myc. has to recover after every shake. Gl

If you shook too much, could it cause the jars to stall a bit? How do you know if you have gotten the right moisture content? My FOAF innoct a few quart jars of WBS with spores, and it has been a couple weeks without any white showing up. The only good myc he saw growing was in one where he put a chunk from a BRF jar in it.(which was shaken and now he can't see anything.) The jars done with a liquid culture haven't shown any signs of myc either.(all incubated at 84*F, the grains were soaked for 24 hours and then pressure cooked for 60 min at 15PSI. They did seem not as wet after PCing them.)

I guess all he can do is wait, but he really wants to get this right. Any advice, or pointing me to extra info to read would be appreciated.

We perceive. This is hard fact. But what we perceive is not a fact of the same kind, because we learn what to perceive.
