You are surprised that these people had high paying jobs? They got there by being smart, the same reason that they are politicians........

Well, hate to burst your bubble, but unfortuanetly that isn't the case. The current president had a failed oil company, among various other failures. C's in school... I've read somewhere that he has an IQ that is less then average, trying to find the link. Look up all the speech blunders and miscommunications of messages in addition to that as well.

Intelligent/smart to what degree? The ability to market yourself? Paris Hilton is very rich, but would you consider her intelligent? Being able to acquire money, and being able to make money by virtue of your talents are 2 different things.... Riding on ol' money or "the coat tails of your parents" are a different story altogether. Give me that background, and I gurantee you that I can surpass either of them; as I'm sure many of the viewers of this forum could as well.

Found the Link:

(Note: not suggesting this is a relevant source, worth a read though).

I'm sick of it not outraging people to know that our politicians are bought and paid for.

Americans only have themselves to blame. They allowed the Constitution to become corrupted. Some of our most beloved presidents are the ones who have done the most to corrupt it(Lincoln, Roosevelt, Wilson, etc.). Every situation in which people have called for government to overstep its role in order to accomplish some percieved public good has naturally resulted in bigger government, leading to our current society in which people seem to have almost completely forgotten that there were supposed to be limitations on what government could do. Pork barrel spending has become an accepted part of the budget, so why wouldn't the corporations take advantage of that by buying out the budget-makers? We need a return to limited government.
