yellow waste fluid

I have run short on time as of latley and have left some Quart jars of grain sit way to long (few months). There is yellow waste fluid now filling the jars half way up. Is This still an acceptable source of spawn? I do not want to waste time if I will just end up with thrichoderma and of other contams that might take advantage of this possibly easy prey.

in my experiance, in all probability, attempting to use that mycelium as spawn would be a complete waste of time.

i suggest growing out the material, as it may bear fruit as is, but with that much waste product, it is nearing the end of its life cycle and is not likely to be vigoruous.

it may be best outdoors, where nature will tend to wash away the contamination.
