Bad contams :(

I made 8 WBS jars, I soaked overnight then I pc'ed them. All had amazing fast growth but 1 never grew. I used Z strain but alas 5 were infected by the green meanie. 1 more of my jars looks like it may be, much whiter growth in certain places. I have moved it away from my last two jars. I was wondering if the green meanie can be caused or come from something at the house. My house is pretty clean and I spray Lysol all the time. I used flame sterilizations and alcohol. I had tyvek and a band aid. one of my questions is that maybe my syringe was bad because there was only green mold where there was mycelium. I did not see any at the top of the jar. I'm just angry at the green meanie. :frown:

Well it was my friends. HE quit growing as I just started and gave me all his stuff. I think he bought it from a shroomery vendor but not sure. Normal syringe with paper saying z strain taped to syringe.

how long did you pc them for? I've only had contamination problems as high as your if i didnt pressure cook long enough. people say 1 hour is plenty i prefer 90 min to be safe. that extra 30 min may save you from loosing all your jars.

I think that I pced them for 1 hour each
I will try and do 1.5 hours or 2 next time. Everyone says at 15 psi but what if you did it more than that?
