This Year's First P. stuntzii Find
    #3857365 - 03/02/05 03:15 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

WEll I am a little ticked off about this post.

I forgot to recharge my battery in my digital camera. First time in two years I forgot.

Last week I took some flower photos and cactus images and a few downtown buildings here in Seattle.

There were probably a pound to a pound an a half on the ground. I got off two good images. Thuis is Psilocybe stuntzii var. tenuis, a conical grass inhabiting Psilocybe.

Nice find. Great photos.

What season do you find the most mushrooms? Here is Australia most mushrooms grow in our Autumn season. Which is right now! We find very few mushrooms in spring. But you guys seem to be on a good thing now!

Mj finds so many shrooms...tell me, what do you do with most of your findings? Leave them? Eat them? collect and take prints? dry and save for the apocylpse?
Nice find

I leave many in the ground only to find someone else has come along and dug them up from their roots and so I go alone into the night of "Who's been digging in my shroom bed."

It was a metaphor.

Like People have roots?

Teeth have roots.

Like the Thai Bungalow resort that advertised, "We have Rooms, WE have Shrooms."

But the concept is indeed accurate. Pulling shrooms from there roots and not cutting can destroy a patch...kills the mycelium growin underground.

The comments were acctually about P. stuntzii, which, like Psilocybe semilanceata and P. femetaria, and P. sierrae all grow with their mycelia attached tot he rioots of wild and domesticated grasses.

So in away they7 are having a symbiotic relationship wioth the surrounding environment.

Autumn and Winter are optimal for shrooms here in Aus. Also i have had finds in the middle of spring. Its really dependant on the weather thats all.

Two to three dried grams or one third ounce fresh or more for a good high. You can get two to three people off on a fresh ounce of blue ringers as opposed to one person on a fresh ounce of cubes.

In the dry stage, blue ringers are close to cubensis in potency, but i fuind that the high tends to make me think more of the past then the presnt or future. With Cyansecens it is electrical, w2ith baeocystis it is very visual, with liberty caps it is mystical, anaimated, magical and enchanting and with Panaeolus subbalteatus in a fast fast tea it is very cartoony.

Some various highs associated with different species.

oh Ok thats nice MJ - your wealth of knowledge never Ceases to amaze me!

Which of those types of trips would you compare to Copes (if any)? Because I have only tried cubes and copes because of where I live

Ive noticed the cope trip to be more confusing and intense (bodyload wise, not visual) than that of the more mellow easygoing cube style-

Mj finds so many he doesnt need to ingest anymore....if he ingested every single yield he found the guy would be runnning around in the streets naked 24 hours a day. If you want to see what other finds he has come across check out his website packed full of shroom info: http://www.mushroomjohn.com/ or just search his posts under the hunting forum.

Thank's mate. I am living in Sydney at present. I used to live in the Hunter and have been Hunting & Collecting for years. I know when and where they grow here, I was just asking the guys in the states which was their best time of year.
