Help me ID this comedian... kinda music/comedy oriented...
    #3856742 - 03/02/05 12:45 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

So I saw this guy on Comedy Central a couple weeks ago... just remembered him now. He absolutely cracked me up.

He spent most of his act sitting at a piano playing deep and serious sounding music behind his lines... he presented the lines as if they were the "on-stage banter" between songs that musicians always spew. Everything he said was very seriously worded, and he never cracked a smile... but each line was so accutely different than the way he presented it, I just couldn't help finding it all hilarious.

Then he proceeded to announce that 12 of his ex-girlfriends had formed an accapella group... and sure enough, out came a 12-girl accapella group that proceeded to sing a song about him while he did this silent mime-dancing thing with giant signs that he revealed from time to time.

Anyway. This guy completely killed me. It was ALL in the presentation... the way he managed to remain so serious and dry as he presented hilarious material made it all the better.

Oh, and he's got this big bushy beard...

Does anyone know who this guy is?

Jim Galfinakis or something like that is the guy.

You probably got him confused with Jim Gaffigan, another funny comedian.

Anyone seen Stephen Lynch on Comedy Central Presents?

yes, it's Zach.

also, Stephen Lynch is great. I have his DVD Live at the El Rey, which shows some of the same material but is much more like seeing him live than the Comedy Central special. it's also unedited and much darker. good shit.

I hate I missed SL on tour with Mitch Hedberg recently. Mitch has been my favorite comedian the last few years.

Yes! Thanks Phluck.

Mitch is priceless... the ultimate free spirit stoner. heh.

I'm not farmiliar with Stephen Lynch... unless I just don't know him by name. Mayhaps I will look him up.
