Ok  .  I`m sitting here and a light comes on.... why not just drop a cap in a baby food jar. let it drop it spores in the bottom... remove the cap..  The bottom of the jar would be spore laden.  Then sterilize my water in s syringe.let cool to room temp and squirt in the jar..you could swirl it around great with the lid on or even shake it up..  then remove lid and suck those babies up....  I gotta run to the store and get some baby food friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  lol......  I`ll post later and let you all know how this works out..... If it`s not a new idea an an old tek... then thanks for transmitting the idea.. I received it loud and clear :smile:

Ya, thats an old tech. I haven't used it myself. Another tech of similar nature is the 9er syringe making tech. Look it up in the grow/find section of ye old shroomery.

i have been known to use a similar tek, with one difference. i have used s smallwire support made form hardware-cloth, ( the quarter-inch square holed wire screen) the support can be flamed. it holds the cap up off the bottom of the jar to avoid transmitting contams by contact, yet lets most all of the spores drop.

i had earlier tried directly on the bottom of the jar, but had a disasterous level of contams.

having abandoned the direct contact approach, i cannot say with scientific certainty that the abandonment actually helped, or if in that one case, i just had a dirty cap.

i have been using half pint mason jars, as i find being able to seal up spores in the jar for later to be of advantage.

the direct to jar approach has the distinct advantage of eliminating a step in which contam can enter the process via the paper.
