PANS, and whether I should start with them....
    #385579 - 09/04/01 03:28 PM (22 years, 1 month ago)

In the past, I have only bought shrooms and they've always been pans. I'm very happy with the potency and how they work, however I have no basis for comparison. I've been looking around here for a while and many people are saying it's very difficult to grow pans without some special stuff. Well, I'd really like to grow them and I am up for the challenge. MY questions are these.
1. What do I need to grow pans that I wouldn't need for cubes? (Some prices would be nice)
2. Would pans grow in the Hydra-Pod?
3. What is the average yield for 7-8 half pints?

Thanks Guys.
-Jon

city. So, the way I would do it is to make my cake out of straw, or to make the cake, and then put straw into the hydrapod, or what? Would i put the straw down, then put vermiculite on top of that, then cake it then put it into the pod?

I was under the impression that you could have up to seven jars i nthe pod at one time...From the picture at least I thought I saw 7 cakes in there. So, you're saying I should only put on in there? What would I do with the other 6 cakes though?

what you need to notice, is that straw is primarily a tray cultivation medium and that cakes are traditionally done with brown rice flour and vermiculite. the tek to adopt the one to the other is outlined above. cake tek is far easier for begginers.

i have yet to fully master tray tek even on an easy species like cubies. this is not to say that you will fail, i mearly suggest that you get used to growing them the easy way first, and then tackly bigger challenges.
