Eating Kratom vs. making a tea

Every time I have taken Kratom I just mix the powder (the highest strength powder) with some OJ or water and down it.
Does making a tea (with the same dose) make it more potent? Does it effect the nausea (or lack thereof)?
It feels great but last time I took it it made me pretty nauseous.

I've only eaten kratom once, and that was the only time I got nauseous of it. It could have been a coincidence, but since then I only drank it as a tea.

Hey Plok, did you up your dosage last time?
You can get plenty nausead from eating, I find that sitting still in dark room helps, but it's best to avoid it altoghter. 3 gms premium powder is my sweet spot. 2 isn't enough. 4 is OK, and 5 is way too much.
Just make sure to drink something hot after eating (or chugging) I find it interesting you got effects from just mixing with OJ

I took 5 grams of the super premium powder at Mr. Kratom. It was too much. I ended up throwing up twice.
Does making a tea cause less nausea than just mixing the powder with something and drinking it down?

I've done both many times and for some reason the tea ive made is always stronger than when i put premium powder in a glass with hot water and down it. and the teas ive made with regular kratom as opposed to just premium powder in hot water and downing it have just worked better. so that's my experience. hot water by the way is also a good thing to include anytime, i think it extracts better this way. ive had premium powder in the glass cold and it wasnt nearly as strong. i think eating the powder probably makes me more nauseous. but usually if you just don't overdose on the stuff the nausea isn't bad. if it is, try lowering your dose. or try making a tea. experiment a bit since you havent made tea yet and see which works better for yourself. i havent tried mr. kratom's stuff yet though, so im not certain how close each strength is to what i usually have.

I did the tea the first time, not much nausea and good effects. However the last 3 or 4 times I just put a dose on a PBJ and downed some hot cocoa.
It may be possible that making a tea makes a stronger dose with less nausea, but I prefer not to drink mud
So I will continue with my regular method unless some new info is varified.

Most people probably don't notice the effects of raw powdered kratom because, like alot of other plants, they must be boiled to ensure bioavailabilty. When you swallow just plain grounds your stomach might have a hard time processing it(which may be the reason for nausea) and most of the powder goes into the intestines and then out the back end. Now, when you boil, not only does it extract, but it also softens up the grounds so the stomach can easily digest it and all the goodies will go straight to your blood stream. Hope this helps.

^hah. actually I dont mind it much as shrooms
I boiled, strained, and repeated 4 times with my tea (10 gram powdered leaf to begin) and just eating 10 grams of same powder in a glass of water got me much higher.

In Thailand the number one method of ingestion is to chew the leaves.. Regular addicted users chew twenty or more leaves per day.
The stalk is taken from the leave and then the leaf is rolled and pressed into the gums and chewed for desired effects. Fresh leafes are the most common form of leaf and chewing is the preferred method of intake.

That's interesting, it would be nice to have access to some fresh leaves to try that once.

Join us on our fall Thai excursion and I will introduce you to my chao Samui friends who chewed leaves with me last summer.
and a few leaves for chewing purposes.
btw. They leep fresh leaves in stacks wrapped in a palm leaf in a closed tupperware container in their ice boxes. And when i say ice boxes, that is what they have, with real blocks of ice in them.
Here is a picture of some leaves.
and more

Great pics!
At 20 leaves per day, they must be getting a narcotic dose?

yeah i have no idea, probably just a few grams. dont do it that way, use a scale. -----
But yeah, anyway, to the original poster and users.. like i said in my post before which may have been pretty confusing now that ive gone back and read it haha.. basically, just make a tea because just drinking the powder will not extract it nearly as well as with all the heat from making a tea. Best way to go about it, and easier to get down than with all that powder in it. and you can add some water to the little bit of powder that may have snuck it's way in there when you've finished drinking the tea and then drink that as well to get it all out. happy tea drinking
