just inoculated

i just inoculated 10 jars on sunday. i am using the pf tek, BUT i could not find half pint (8oz) jars so i used 1/4 (4oz) jars and cut the substrate formula in half (which i shouldn't have because i had to mix up more). can somebody tell me if this was ok or not.
...and also, i was pretty meticulous about sterility. i've got the jars colonizing in the box they came in which i lysoled down pretty good. they have foil over the lids (which i lysoled before putting on the lids) not to mention all the steps i took while inoculating them. i'm not too worried about contamination. just the opposite. can i be being too sterile? should i worry about the lysol killing the mold that i DO want to grow?

I'd worry a bit about that air gap, but as long as you were sterile about everyting, I dont see a huge problem.

Sounds just fine. Everybody looses a jar or two in their lifetime so dont be suprised if you do. I went through hell me first few attempts.
