Dunking/Cold Shocking

I was hoping someone could offer me some solid advice on doing both. Ive read that dunking is better when warm water is use and ive also been told that it is perfectly fine to dunk and cold shock together. Does it really matter what the temperature of the water is?

Also I was reading about niteowl using a layer of wet verm on top of and on the bottom of his cakes. Does anyone know the significance of this if the humidity in the FC near is near 100%?

Dunk and shock at the same time before the first flush. After the first flush, before subsequent flushes, dunk at room temp.

You would be wise, after the dunk, to roll the wet cake in dry sterile verm and then place some under and on top of the cake as you saw done. It will do you a whole lot of good, no matter what the humidity is.
