hi,
i have ordered spore syringes and have read up a lot for my first grow. i am going to do it pf tek. in the grow guides i didnt see anything about you needing a light, but in some of the grow logs i have seen people using lamps. do you need to use a light to grow shrooms? cheers :smile: :thumbup:

They need some light, but just having them in a cleat tub does the trick, but you'll have shrooms growing in all directions.

I'm not sure of the exact wavelength but you could just use a flourescent set to a 12/12 cycle.

The mushrooms will grow towards the light, so if the only light is coming from the top then you'll have nice even flushes.

use light to initiate pinning and continue throught he fruiting stage but not during incubation

hey, cheers for the help. i have a 20w lamp that i want to use, but it lets off a bit of heat. i will be growing inside a chest with a rubermade container inside of it. i am worried the heat of the lamp could make the temps a bit high. would it be alright as long as its not getting the direct heat from the lamp and i keep it a same distance (a foot or so)?

does anybody else use xmas lights? i'm using blue icycle lights and, well, i definitely am not able to grow anything that looks like a mushroom....

does it HAVE to be fluorescent?? (or sunlight)
