Tennessee Stud Introduces New Product!

Tennessee Stud Substrates is introducing a 50/50 mix of finely shredded straw and our Tennessee Stud product. The mix will be available Pre-Pasteurized in filter patch bags. All of our bags are 5lbs each. This is a great mix and will produce nice mushrooms and numerous flushes. Unfortunately it will be a little while before we introduce our dry shredded straw product. My hands are pretty full right now with existing products and orders. Thanks for the positive feedback I've been getting from the community. Hopefully someone can do a grow log with my product. We still offer $5.00 S/H on ALL ORDERS! All packages are sent FedEx Ground in plain boxes. I process each order individually. Packages should arrive 7-10 days after ordering. Check out my website for details. I have them listed on the ordering page. I'll have the products page finished soon. There may be some problems logging on to my site while I update. Peace.

Exactly where on this post or on my website, for that matter, do I encourage the cultivation of illegal mushrooms? There are hundreds of varieties of dung/straw loving mushrooms that can be grown on my product. Once again I do not encourage, condone or suggest that people use my product for ANY illegal activity.

Not to be rude, but there are some things you should figure out on your own here. Estimate the container you plan on using, look at the product offered, and do some visual math.

diver, I understand what he is asking. I have been using worm castings that come in a 1 cubic foot bag. It feels much much heavier than five pounds. So, I think he's just trying to figure out what five pounds of dry sub mix would cover, what volume does it expand out to at field capacity more or less.
cause I know that a 1 cub foot bag of castings lasted me aprox 8 DT's (Iris brand, 66cm X 30 cm) at a sub depth of about 4 inches. sorry about non uniform use of dimensions. So, how many of these tubs would a five pound bag of compost last me??? If someone knows please help me out.

yes, thank you mark, that is what I was asking.
Maybe I should rephrase again. I have 2 16"x10.5" roughneck rubermaid tubs. How much 50/50 would be enough to fill those tubs with about 2-3" of substrate?

I figured that...I mean what device are you using to attain this pasteurization? Also, you say that your product is time tested. Where is the proof? Sounds like you're just trying to sell your shit. And HMC has a component that yours lacks that IS proven to produce better and bigger fruits.

Does it really matter? Pasteurization is not a top secret operation. Whether he is attaining it one pot a time on the stovetop, or has a large drum filled with water brought to temp by burners, or has a controlled steam method, it matters not. Maybe he doesn't want to divulge that information--that's his right as a business owner.

You've been registered a year now. Have you been hiding under a rock the entire time? Horse manure is a PROVEN substrate. Not recognizing horse manure as a top substrate nets you placement in the noob category automatically.

You are comparing an actual mushroom compost to horse manure. Do you understand how stupid you're looking in doing so? Of course they are different substrates. I know for a fact you don't how the ingredients of HMC from a hole in the ground.
Jesus Christ stop trolling.

He is the one that compares his product to "other mushroom substrates". And your fact is wrong: I know the exact ingredients in HMC. And I think it is a very important question to know how one goes about their pasteurization proceedure when making it commercially available for sale. I dont think being cautious and asking valid questions is trolling. And one final little fact for your remedial remarks stated above. Yes, I know that horse manure is a good substrate WHEN PREPARED CORRECTLY but if prepared improperly in it useless(kinda like your replies). That is what I was asking him when I asked where the proof is in his product claims. I have nothing against Tenn stud...just curious but I do have things against uninformed people(ie....DIVER)

Your coming across as a little hostile.
You almost sound like you work for HMC...with your knowledge of their product...and your attitude towards their competition.
Give it a rest...his product will speak for itself after its been used by a few members of the community...if they fail...he fails.
I plan on testing his product.
Look for the up coming Free Spore Ring Canada grow in the Grow Log forum...I'll be growing out a semi new strain, the "Elephant Gate" for the FSRC using one of the Tennessee Stud's products.
All my prints will be donated to the Free Spore Rings.

I, too, will be planning a gourmet/medicinal test of his substrates using shaggy manes as the subject. I will share my results with the community when it's time. If things works well Tennessee will have my full endorsement. If not, then, perhaps, we can start asking the company more about their procedures and whatnot to see if there is a problem. Until then, let's wait 'n see...

Just wanted to say that I have nothing against Tenn stud or any of the above stated replies. Sometimes my own obstinance gets the best of me. I apologize for any comment that may have seemed antagonistic or negative. I hope he(Tenn Stud) does well. We could all use another quality product.
