exposing cakes

i have a temp and humidity guage in my shoe box where i keep my colonizing jars. i like to check the guage once a day because it can tell me the temperature range for the past 24 hrs. nice gadget. anyways is this bad that everytime i check the shoe box, all of the jars get exposed to light? i ask this because i read that light, cool temps, and oxygen are the main things that trigger fruiting, so am i triggereing fruiting with the light exposure?

the short amount of time you take to check temp/humidity will not affect the cakes or induce pinning. it takes 3 to 7 days indirect light and cooler temps to induce pinning. make sure to practice cleanliness when opening terrium. good luck. Peace

Maybe. It's best not to mess with the jars while colonizing.
