Inncubation: When to remove from dark?

My cakes have been incubating for about 2 weeks now and the mycelium appears to have infiltrated the entire cake. I've been incubating them in the box the jars came in, in the dark. Should I move them into the light so that they can start pinning? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks....

If they are fully colonized  ..........  birth those babies upside down in a terrarium... or better yet....  crumble  and case... better yields...  try  casing with straight wet verm if you are a newbie....... good luck:cool:

traditionally incubation was to be done in total darkness, but recently it has been found to be unnecessary unless you are getting mushrooms before full colonization.

the next generation of cake tek calls for exposing the fully colonized cakes to the same kind of light they would recieve in the terrarium, but leaving them inside the jars for the time being. this takes advantage of the ideal microenvironment inside the jars.

some people invert the jars and loosen the lids at this point.

You might want to try cold shocking them. Put them in the fridge for about 6 hours.
