Any other non "spiritual" users out there?

Hi I am interested to hear the views of other non-spiritual shroom users out there. By spiritual I guess I really mean supernatural i.e. the belief in God, a higher-intelligence, spirits etc. When I take shrooms in the right fashion I fell immensly positive, focussed & relaxed. I feel connected to fellow man and see the true value of genuine empathy and the benefits of many of the world's religious teachings but never a reason to accept the supernatural element of them. I feel that what I learn from the experience is very valuable and am sad that I cannot reliably sustain the mind-set in the rest of my life - hell, nobody's perfect! When I read or look on the net for more information on this subject, it is usually framed in terms of quasi-religiousness which doesn't sit with the my beliefs. But I do want to explore the subject further. What are your views on what shrooms have to offer?

someone once told me in a dream that... I could ask any question and it (she?) would give me the answer.....but every question I asked was shown to be faulty... which reminds me of the saying... "thinking of the correct question is half of the answer."

I don't consider myself a spiritual user of psychedelics because I'm not really sure what "spiritual" is supposed to mean, or when I'm "actually" experiencing something spiritual. Also, nihilism prevents spirituality (except when you don't want it to...) > What are your views on what shrooms have to offer? Experience.

Well, I am not a "spiritual user" in the way you put it. I don't believe in supernatural or religious stuff. But I feel a lot more spiritual in that I feel my inner being come out a lot more when tripping. And I feel a lot more connected to mother earth and the such. I feel less connected to mankind, and more to the grass and trees and insects and animals of this planet. Not the bulidings and prisons and corporate american assholes.

In reply to:

i used to think this too... a few days ago some dude recommended a book on spiritual enlightenment to me and previously i was always like (pshh... what's that all about.. nonscense). but i went out, bought it, and have read throught the first chapter. the cool thing is that spirituality has only to do with yourself and your being. supernatural dieties like the God's in so many religeons have been tweaked so much over the years that they have lost most of their power to express the true spiritual nature. i'm not religeous at all, i just cannot believe in something like that, but after reading this some of this book (The Power of Now), i feel so much better - problems that i would dwell on and would haunt me don't even bother me anymore. the guy sent me scans up through the first chapter - if you want to check it out i posted it at: http://www.swib.com/thepowerofnow just check it out, it's really cool

"karma" is simply the "law" of cause and effect. everything happens because something caused it to happen, and everything that happens will cause something else to happen. thus everything in existence is an intricate, interwoven web of cause and effect. it is inescapable. the tree produces a fruit, an animal eats the fruit and drops the seeds in its shit, the rain falls, the sun shines the seed grows into a new tree, which might eventually produce more fruit. this is karma, do you believe in it?

are you denying the classic concepts of god as an old man with white beard and satan sitting in a pit of fire? whynot view god as everything you dont know? and your life will become a fountain of continuous revelation, an unending flow of knowledge. religions are often the exoteric shell of some very fine wisdom. if you scratch the surface you may find some treasures.

I realize that reason is a poor tool for understanding the self the universe is so unbelievable amazing fantastic and multy dimensional that I don't pretend to try to explain it I just want to experience it. A wise man said, "There is nothing you have to do in life, only something to see."

Well when you are stuck in a frame of mind you only see what you want to see and it is usually tunnel visioned and one sided.....i like to refer to "mushrooms" as throwing in the fire. I wish the fire was something else but for now this will have to suffice Let me know if you need an even more detailed description Come find me lol
