A few opinions on my jars? (pics included)

My 5 pf tek jars are almost finished colonizing! They are palenque strain. Started one February 15 which makes them 11 days old. I just wanted to share and ask a couple quick opinions.
1. How much longer do you think they have, and is it true that you shouyld wait 24 hours after the jars appear to be fully colonized?
2. Should i let them pin in the jars or birth them then let them pin? (what are your opinions on this)
Thanks for reading my post. BTW this is my first post and i'm sure you'll see me again.

Yeah wait for the jars to finish colonizing all the way to the core, give it an extra few days after its compleate. Don't fruit them in the jars, those jars are way to small. Get a tub, some perlite, a fish pump and fruit them in that.

i may be wrong and i know alot of ppl have had success with perlite, but i hate using it, it is a nasty mess to deal with and if u can use a TiT i would highly reccomend it over making a big sloppy messs with perlite

Nicco,
You still have the alum over the lids.
Do you still have tape over the holes?
If you still have tape over the holes...take it off.

good
leaving the tape on over the holes will create a CO2 build up and stall them.
You could also get rid of the alum foil now...at this point.

First off. Are you planing on rolling those cakes in wet vermiculite?? If you are then wait about 24 hours after there fully colonized then roll them and stick in your fruiting chamber if you dont plan on rolling them then you can leave them in the jars until you c the first start of the pins. If you decide not to roll and leave them in the jars until they pin then make sure they get some light. 14 hours of light is recomended, there really isnt any benefit of leaving them in the jars. If left in the jars they are less prone to cobweb. But a little h202 will work wonders. Second is the post on perlite being an ugly mess. Well ive used perlite along with geolite and various other methods of humidification. I love perlite, I dont c how its an ugly mess. It works wonders and I swear by it. Geolite also works well. If by perlite you mean the ground up form, then yes i suppose it could be messy but perlite also comes in a pebbely form much the same as geolite. Much easier to handle.

Where can you find geolite sized pieces of perlite? That sounds sweet.

I'm not sure such a thing exists. If so, I've never heard of it.
Lava rock might be ok for humification, but perlite is the old standby and unless you want to move to humidifiers, IMO, that's you're best bet. It doesn't really even need to be that messy. The messy part is if you try to bake it to reuse.... and if you just keep a vacum cleaner around, it's no problem at all really.

The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people..." President Dwight Eisenhower, 1953

Never heard of huge perlites
Perlite is the king of humidity by far, but it can be a lil messy, just takes lil more effort when using it..
If you're lazy like magash Then lava rocks are the way to go, everything has its pros and cons Gl

What do you mean? Since when is a TIT a substitute for perlite?
He can use geolite, but as Tantalus says, a vacuumcleaner will do the trick.
I use geolite though.
A tit in itself is NOT a suitable fruiting chamber.
