here are a couple classic shows..i could recommend you hundreds more, but i'll refrain for now if you don't want to dl the entire shows, make sure you get scarlet begonias > fire on the mountain, st. stephen > not fade away > st stephen, morning dew, and saturday night from the 5/8/77 show, and absolutely make sure you get chinacat sunflower > i know you rider, sugaree, black throated wind, big railroad blues, casey jones, dark star, and uncle john's band from the rotterdam show. enjoy!

coming from a guy who had never really listened to the dead 1yr 1/2 ago and now its all i listen to. start with the album "American Beauty" and go from there. i dont think you should start anywhere but american beauty. then move on to "workingman's dead" then start with the live stuff.

Anything from 1969-1974 will blow your mind. For starters I higly recommend getting One From The Vault. IMO the finest GD performance ever (including Cornell '77).
