    #3841633 - 02/27/05 04:23 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I am doing my first casing ever and i just checked them (2days after i cased (wbs) ) and i am not sure if its myc or cobweb mold. i don't want to get pics yet but i will. but what should i do to try and get rid of the cobweb? (the casing are in my TiT still. Also i have 3 casing and all 3 are showing the same thing but each was cased with a different jar.

Cobweb is a whore. Chances are that if you can see it, it's colonizing the casing layer as you read this. Over the years my battles with cobweb were so futile that nowadays I just pitch the casing at first signs of contamination. 9/10 times it's a losing battle.

Really need a picture to make an ID though..

If it looks whipsy, colonizes the whole casing Qucikly, say 2days..(less?) and if it "melts" when you mist it....Then it's cobbweb..=/

i should have started this in contam but here are the pics. But what would be the best way to fight it if it was cobweb?

I looked at the enlarged pic , looks thin and whispy, but its probably myc.

You patch b/c

A.) Myc. didnt pop up everywhere at the same time
B.) To counteract A.) and make it to where the uncolonized part can catch up

So yea, patch it up :smirk:

Good luck
