Dessicant question

I understand that drierite, the laboratory grade dessicant is much better for reusing. My question is what is your guys reccomdation on dessicant. How many of you successfully reuse the cheaper stuff that you can find in a hardware store?

I've used calcium carbonate (called all sorts of things, usually found in the fan, de/humidifier etc section of hardware stores). It works well, but turns into a clear thick liquid when it absorbes the water. Just be really careful to not let shrooms touch the shit. The best way I've found to do this is take a large tupperware container, the bigger the better (in length and width that is, height doesn't matter as much) and fill with about 1/2 inch of the shit. Then take a sheet/pillowcase/whatever and drape it across the top. Place the shrroms on it and suspend them above the bottom so it doesnt touch anywhere. The put the lid on nice and tight and wait 3 days. I've been able to dry 60g wet within 2-3 days.

I know how to dry shrooms using dessicant but my question is on the reusability of certain kinds. Should I order the shit from mycosupply.com or just get hardware store shit? Can any hardware store shit be reused?
