what do i ask for when calling a pet store and asking for coco fiber.. any specific name for it? coir? and what is it usally used for pet wise? gonna give this shit a try if i can find it locally... thanks all.....

Hey.  I got mine in a hydroponics shop...from what i've read the pet stuff sometimes has certain molds in it (trichoderma)...not quite sure why they would add mold but i guess it's for the pet use...i think generally the shit is for lizards.

So yeah -- mine was from a local hydroponics place and i just asked for Coco-coir...probably your best bet to look in such a shop if you have one...i tried calling some garden places first but they didn't have any.  Good luck if you go for the pet kind :smile:

Here`s a link for Gro-Bricks  $1.59 for a 1 lb brick or $29.95 for 24 1lb. bricks.... http://www.discount-hydro.com/growmediums.asp they also have Vermiculite on that page if you or anyone else reading this is having a problem finding that :cool:.. Hope this helps you out

I think it's 2.50 for 2lb brick.. This brand has a very low salt content.
Friendly, and speedy delivery. Also has 3lb bricks as well as larger sizes like 9ft as I recall..
for hydroponic gardens.
