Is this overlay???
Probably not. This is after the 1st flush.Notice the puple color or tent. Also there's a spot of green. Will deal with that shotly.
As always, everyone's thoughts are appreciated.

Green spot? hmm...
Every time I have seen a green spot, I have cut my casing in half to find about 40% of it is green on the inside...careful with that.

You do know that the mycelium of some (maybe all? dont know) green molds is white right? It looks different then cubie mycelium but where you see green is only spores. Think about mushrooms and when you see their spores in their life. The end. And all below the surface of the casing when the mushrooms dropped the spores is mycelium. You can count on green to be the same way.

So what you're saying(scat), is that it's probably just spores dropped from the previous flush?
I donno, maybe i read it wrong

LOL, I'm confusing when I write.
Mushrooms are similar to mold. Mushrroms drop their spores late in their life cycle right? Last thing they do? And at that point the entire surface underneath the ground is covered in mycelium that you cant see (because of the dirt/casing soil on top).
Green molds the same way. Before it drops its spores, late in its life..its spread its mycelium deeper than that, sometimes covering the entire surface underground that you cant see. Green mold mycelium is also white so it can be right next to cubie mycelium and you'll have no idea.
Thats like saying if you let your shrooms drop their spores everywhere and after you harvest you wash away all the spores and expect it to stop the mushrooms from growing. Just removing the spores doesnt do much of shit. Not to mention you cant see to remove every spore.

The green spot has been cut off.Looks like it was only on the surface. If I try to keep this casing in the fruiting chamber the green will return. The way it goes for me.So outdoors it goes.
Back to ? Does this look like overlay? The myc looks so matted down.

Sorry I didnt bother giving an opinion because the pic is to crappy. Often you just need a little fresh casing mix on top.

if you see it on the surface, its under the surface moving right along

I cut out 1/4 of the casing. No other signs of it but everytime I put one back in the fruiting chamber the green shows back up.On the surface.
So I wrap the casing in clear plastic, let set in bright sunshine for 2 days then into outdoor patch. So far this has good as long as the green was only on the surface.
But still is it standard for the myc to mat down after a flush?I can still see the hyphal knots.Just looks sick to me.

the green you see is only on the surface because thats just the spores from the contam. the green is inside the cakes and spreading, thats why it keeps showing on the surface, its trying to get everything you have!

I wouldnt describe it as matted down or overlay after the first flush, but I could see how someone could confuse it.
