Faith No More
-------------------- You've started a fire, you've started a fire you can't put out
You've burned your bridges, can't go back from where you came
Vision is failing, just writhe and burn out of control
No use pretending, slither back into your hole

Black Label Society, Corrosion of Conformity, Modest Mouse, Alice in Chains, Green Day, Pennywise, Offspring, Shadows Fall, 311, Red Hot Chili Peppers..
honorable mention goes to the harder, more popular stuff, like Pantera, and Metallica.. also to Van Halen and alot of the more rocking glam-era bands, but i'm sure you've heard of them already.
oh, also, along th elines of kyuss, check out QOTSA(former kyuss members actually) and Open Hand

I dont listen to todays music much because 99% is crap, but there are few people today who I still respect as musicians. I think you'd like Jet. Their cd is actually pretty good. The newest released song of it is sort of "beatles-esque" the video is badass too. It's like they are in a fucking fairy tale cartoon. Too bad I cant remember the title.

Go back to the glory days:
Soundgarden Nirvana Alice in Chains Pearl Jam
Also, try out Modest Mouse and Nine Inch Nails. Those would have to be my six favorite bands right there. Stone Temple Pilots is number seven.
Edit: Holy crap I somehow forgot Tool. Go buy some Tool right now.

Uh yeah, been into Zakk Wylde, BLS - Ozzy, ironically in time for him to tour Voodoo. Ozzfest would have been awesome.
