I used a coolbox, the last time I pasteurized. Just pouring boiling hot water over the straw. The colder straw makes temperature of the water drop till 70-80 F.
Apply the lid and wait a few hours. That was that 90 grams dry harvest.
The day im gonna need 35 gallons of straw for a single casing.. ehmm will do it batchwise.
No problemo.

Was this for a single casing? Perhaps I missed that somewhere but if so, I'd suggest splitting it up into more. If you lose it to contams its done. I mean hell I think I only use about 15-20 quarts of straw for a casing like the black one:
and that gives you a good 3-4 ounces a flush for a few flushes. Were talking like 8 times that much right for 35 gallons? Hell my trashcan is only 20 gallons.... I probably did about 35 gallons in two runs the other day but I made eight casings with it, not one.... Bigger then them black tubs too...

It is maybe my bad, he dont mention that its for a single casing. I meant for a single grow (can be multiple casings).
To start 35 gallons of straw at the same time, will need you (depending on ratio) 7-10 gallons of spawn. Less if you dont want a fast spawnrun, which I like.
That is like 30-40 quart jars, my incubator cant cope with that!
But with buying/making a few double tubs, one can increase fruiting surface easily. Also its easy to increase incubatorspace, by buying 2 30 gallon rubbermaids for a huge TiT... ;P
But atm that all would be overkill, I dont need THAT many mushies!

Overkill? i'm not aware of the defintition of overkill in this hobby
Well whatever I had for straw, probably like 30 gallons, did 7 tubs as I said. Each tub is 30 quarts, about 2/3 filled so probably about 20 quarts. 10% of that is 2 quarts per tub, which is what I did. So it only took 14 quarts to spawn to all the straw. I think on two I used 3 quarts though. The two amazons took about 7-8 days to colonize but the 5 creepers I did 2 days later were done the same time, in about 6 days. Its not as fast as some people but a week is fast enough for me.
I do also shread my straw in the blender and I stack up all 7 casings on top of eachother with bricks on the top one to compress them all down too.

A week is ok, and overkill yes. I can produce 10 kilo mushrooms each month, and then what? Throw them on teh compost pile? :P

Then you throw them in a big trashbag and leave it somewhere, then go around making up a bunch of fliers telling people whats in it and where you left it and leave them around somwhere. You could also get a job at a chinese resturant and try to get the task of making the tea. Then throw in some "magic" batches every now and then to livin things up. Or rent a helicopter and take your trashbags full of shroomies and fly over a few cities dumping them from the sky. And then of course there are the little unsuspecting elementry school children.

Find a way to get them into the food (or tea) of ivy league law schools = future enlightened politicians.
Or maybe they'd quit law school and join a commune.

the straw is for logs -- made two. They aren't even that big, just very very very dense.
