covering my inic jars
    #3834100 - 02/25/05 07:40 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

i punched 3 nail size holes in my lids, one for inoc n 2 for air. I have my tyvek under my lids, so the 3 holes r exposed, i know to cover my inoc hole, but should i cover the other 2 before the incubator(also r those mini bandades good forcovering?

Why would you make special holes for air exchange, only to cover them up before incubation? That seems silly. Really, you don't even need to cover any of the holes, as the tyvek will keep contaminants out (if you're doing the PF-tek w/ dry vermiculite on top). Cover the inoculation hole if you like though. Band aids work fine. Correct me if I'm wrong here guys. :stoned:

No problem man. You're right btw, they also serve to allow pressure equalization during pressure cooking.
