let us pretend this is real

*prelude* where we were at was the 'hangout,' we go to after school or work or whatever, which is basically a warehouse with guitars, amps, and couches. her boyfriend wasn't there because he was still at work
i didn't know if i should put this in the politics and law forum or the pub.. but I reasoned the pub because it gets quite a few more hits
pretend this was real:
i know a guy really well, he's dating this girl, super lonesome type chick. she was sitting alone today, and her boyfriend was not around.
i am an asshole, and i'll admit it. i was walking around with a few guys, and i bet one of them to grab her ass, to .. "perk her up" so to speak
so, he did.
she blew up and threw a tantrum and i thought i would get smacked by her and lose some of my 'male friends' respect, but in the end it wouldn't matter, because it was obviously a joke and all in good fun.. you know, to lift her mood in a very rude way. i'm like that.. my sense of humor in life is pretty crude and people either accept it or don't associate with me. lots with the last, quite a few with the first..
nevermind the whole joke thing though, the chick's parents are going berserk. they're talking about pressing charges on the guy who actually grabbed her and they're unhappy with the fact i 'instigated it.'
note: i NEVER toutched her. period. i actually did it in all good fun with somewhat legit intentions(cheering her up, or pissing her off.. atleast making her talk some). nevermind the fact i'm an asshole and deserve what I get(because i've accepted that), but COULD I get charged legally ? i never TOUTCHED the girl, again, once.
serious answers plz, i'm about to puke from anxiety and fear.
oh and edit: just to clarify, I said her boyfriend wasn't around today. i wasn't trying to make a move on her.. it's not like that at all. i would have devised such a scheme in front of him if I knew it would perk her(or anyone) up..

I hope this doesn't scare you too much, but, as I understand, you COULD be charged and prosecuted for battery or worse. That is, provided the girl in question makes a complaint and decides to file charges against you....

im no legal expert but i'd say your in the clear. just say you bet him as a joke not thinking he would really do it. when you bet him, did you actually offer him something or just ask him to do it?

i would assume, if you paid him to do it, it would make a difference.

if i were you i'd send them a well thought out letter of apology to try to calm them down. most likely, nothing will happen anyway... but speaking as someone who's been in trouble with the law before, i can say it's not a ton of fun.

If you're good friends with her boyfriend, then I'm sure he'll tell her to just calm down and relax.
