Really shitty situation

First off, I apologize if this post is a bit long winded, and disorganized...I'm stressing out, so bear with me.
I've lived on my own since I was 17 years old, I'm now 22. When I lived at home, my mom and I hated each other, we would fight to the point where the cops would have to come separate us. Recently, my boyfriend and I have decided we want to move to Arizona and buy a house there. Right now, I pay $900 a month for rent, for my one bedroom apartment, and in addition to that, I have to pay utilities (heat, electricity, cable, internet, etc) All in all, if I move back in with my parents, I'll be saving about $1300 a month to put towards a downpayment. We're hoping to be able to move in about a year, if both of us work and save our money diligently. The only reason I have not moved in with my family sooner, is my mom is deathly allergic to cats, and hates them. I have 3, and although she feels sorry that I will have to give them up, thats one issue she wont bend on...I cant bring them with me. So essentially, I've been shelling out all of this extra money for an apartment I'm never at, just so that I wont have to part with my cats. I had a long talk with my mom earlier, and my boyfriend, along with some other close, trusted friends, and have decided that the best thing for me to do, thinking long term, is move back in with my parents, giving up my freedom and my cats. I dont think my mom and I will have the same issues that we did when I was younger, but the thought of giving up my animals because I dont have any place to keep them for a year until I buy a house is absolutely devestating. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone wants, or knows anyone who would want a cat, or 2, or 3, please let me know. They're so sweet, and they're the best of friends, I hate the idea of bringing them to a shelter to have them inevitably be separated.
Thanks guys

Having to give up a pet is always hard to do. Go to a mall or big store and try to give them away.

well if I DO have to give them up, if I cant find anyone to take them temporarily, I plan on going to the local "no kill" shelter in my town, where they'll keep the cats until theh find good homes for them.

my boyfriend says that if I can't find a solution, when we buy a house in Arizona I can get new kittens. And I think I might name them that as well. Mooninites

I moved out right when I turned 18 also ..... I ended up getting married and having a baby.... then he turned out to be super abusive and a loser sooo here I am at 21 with my daughter living at home with mom and dad ( and yes I didnt willing leave my parents house in the first place they kicked me out) I thought that it would be better because when I moved out things with my parrents got much better.... but when I movedback in with them it was just like before I left.... HELL! I can't stand it.... so beware things might seem good at first but they can turn ugly again very fast Good luck with everything.. Much love Kristi
ps couldnt you just find a much much cheeper apartment??

theres not really many apartments that are significantly cheaper than the $900 a month i pay right now. Plus, I'm hardly going to be at my parents house, I'm constantly at Suffer's. So I'm not really so worried about fighting with her. I know she genuinely WANTS me to be back there, my brother started college, and moved out, and my mom took it kind of hard...so did my little sister. So I think showing my face for family dinner a few nights a week might do some good. I just hope the cat situation works itself out somehow...its killing me

Sounds to me like your never home to see the cats anyway so whats the big deal?
You can always buy new critters later on down the road.

well I haven't been home much lately, but I've had these cats for a pretty long time, so naturally I'm attached to them. I know I could get different animals, and most likely will, if I have to...its just hard

Leaving your kitties really sucks. I don't know if I could do it. If I was in your situation, I think I would want to find a temporary home for them so I can have them back.
Maybe you have a friend with a cat friendly home who will adopt them for a while? 3 cats is quite a few, tho...
Are they all siblings?

That was my thought also. Some places (in big citys) offer long term care for pets. It would cost a pretty penny tho.
A friend would work also.

yeah, pay a friend to take care of them. dont just abandon your cats - that's fucking lame.
as for the whole "oh, when we get our place, you can buy replacement cats" - thats lame too.
just find someone to take care of them. or just keep them in your room and tell your mom to stay out of the room. have a HEPA air filter running 24/7 and maybe put your mom on some allergy medication. and follow these instructions: http://www.allthatwomenwant.com/catallergies.htm
you can solve this problem dont abandon your cats - fuck that.

It would kill me to get rid of my kitties. I have this one cat that pisses all over everything for no reason, and we keep saying we're going to get rid of her but we never can just because despite the piss we love her so much.
I agree...try to find them a temporary home so that you guys can live together again one day.

if your mom cannot understand your attachment to your cats and is unwilling to modify certain things (keeping the house clean, having a HEPA filer running, and taking medicine for her condition), then she sucks and I'd find somewhere else to live. I wouldnt just ditch my animals for some bitch like that...no offense.
if you guys didnt get along before, then how are you going to get along now? have you bothh chilled out?

Here is a whole other idea.
You are going to move back in with your parents so you can save money to buy a house with your boy. How about instead of moving back in with your parents where there is a possibility of NOT being entirely happy and giving up your kitties...you just move in with Suffer?
I don't know what his living situation is, but if you are going to be over there all the time anyways, and you are going to buy a house together anyways, why don't you just move in with him now and keep your kitties and also keep your relationship with your parents as civil as possible?
Maybe?
