cubase help
    #3830098 - 02/24/05 09:02 PM (19 years, 1 month ago)

I acquired a copy of Cubase sx2 and have no idea how to use it in the sense of programming beats or melodies.  Am I just stupid?  lol

The copy I have didn't come with a Help file and I haven't successfully found any online tutorials..  I suppose I'm just used to the layout of programs like Fruityloops with features that let me program loops via sequencers and things of that sort.

any help would be greatly appreciated..  btw, thanks for hooking me up with the program, you know who you are.  :mushroom2:

If you go to Guitar Center, they have a *really* great book detailing Cubase in an easy-to-understand manner. should be $40, and Really Worth it, if you're serious about it.

It's not like Fruity Loops as a sequencer, the only aspect they share is the piano roll~ to Cubase's midi element. If you want to arrange drumbeats with individual samples, and you're not using Battery, I'd recommend still using FL and exporting it as a wav into Cubase.

There are 2 main functions/uses in Cubase:
-live audio recorder/mixer/editor
-VST host/arranger

You, uh, sorta need vst's to do the latter.

Cubase is VERY powerful, but the initial learning curve is kinda steep. Once you find your way after a little while it is a LOT easier, and you can do so very much.

If you have some specific questions, there are a few people on here that are very familiar with this great prog.
