Storage Time

This cat I know has some mushies that have been sitting, wrapped in a plastic bag which in inside a sealed mason jar, in the freezer. Are they okay to eat indefinitely? They have been there about 5 months (this cat hasn't had much time to trip). He would like to hold on to them as long as possible. Any danger? Can they go bad (other than losing potency)?

Nothing last forever. I hope your cats preserves were properly dried before freezing, or kitty will end up with a black mushy goo. Active... but not very attractive or appetizing!
To preserve for any length of time, dry using a desicant like Dri Rite, then vacuume seal in heavy freezer type bags. The actual freezing is optional, but wouldn't hurt the preserves.
A forgoten supply from over a year ago proved to be just fine with no noticable loss of "flavour"

Thans...actually they were fan dried and then finished with a dessicant...they were VERY potent ...
