Looks like cobweb to me. What has it done since you took that picture originally--wasn't that from a day or two ago?

I think there is nothing I can do.

Would it be possible to take some mycellium or parts of the substrate that hasn't been infected and inoculate something else with it?

Can I dump it out onto where my horses shit and hopefully mother nature will take over?

If it is cobweb & you see it. It has sporalated. Meaning, it's done the deed & the whole thing has it. You just don't see it yet.

you might try digging a small hole, dump it in & cover with some straw. Hell, I used to throw old fruited out sub's on the garden side compost pile & in early fall.... compost pile would produce a few fruits.

Hmmm, Cobweb...
Try misting those spots with h2o:h2o2 solution, ratio 10:1.
Also, give it more light and more air exchanges. Cobweb likes dark humid places with stalled air, so you should give it the opposite.
