Cofee grounds in substrate?

Hi,

A friend of mine was wondering if coffee grinds make good food for mycelium. They are somewhat acidic I know, but would it kill mycelium? Anybody know?

Never tried coffee grounds but my guess is that it would work. The acid might slow growth at first but it would also make the substrate easier to sterilize and help prevent bacterial contams. Shrooms can take a low pH. I have tried used tea leaves and they work.
