I'm not sure about you guys, but My jars get just a tiny bit of unwanted water on the bottom. 2 ways to fix this

-Get water content right...yea

Or

Try something i'm trying out now, putting a thin ass layer of verm. on the bottom to suck it up, so far it looks like it's working, just thought i'd share an idea for those who mess up with water content and have a bit of water towards the bottom.

"I like cigarettes, Miss Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come alive from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind---and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

Yup.

The "verm-in-first" is what helps absorb excess water during colonization while in the jar; then, after the substrate is birthed, that same verm, which used to be on the bottom but is now on the top, becomes a casing layer for the cake.

The "verm-in-last" ( i.e., topmost layer during colonization ) is used by some people to help fight contams while the myc is colonizing; and then, after birthing, serves as a bottom-layer casing for the cake.

Nice going man, good idea

"Mans unfailing capacity to beleive what he prefers to be true, rather than what evidence proves to be likely and possible, has always astounded me. We longe for a caring universe that will save us from our childish mistakes, and in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary, we will pin all our hopes on the slimmest doubts. God hasnt been proven not to exist, therefore, he must exist!"
