lighting?

After reading the basic grow guide I think I am ready to start. However, while reading, this statement was unclear to me "Psilocybe cubensis is a phototropic mushroom. It needs light to initiate pinning and to tell the mushrooms which way is up" Does the light need to be sunlight? or would ordinary lamps suffice?

ordinary lamps are fine, florescents are excellent- it doesnt need much light either

if you have a window where your growing then you have all the light you need :smile:

for me daylight is OK, but no direct sunlight please.

FOAF used day light mimicing bulbs(75 watt). One was enough to initiate pinning by holding the bulb about 12" away from the casing for about 2 minutes a day for about 2 days. Doing the same was also successful in directing the shrooms in the right direction during growth; they are very responsive.
