What should they look like

Just yesterday I had a few mushrooms popping up and they looked like the many pictures on this web site. Yet I'm wondering if there are any specific things which I can look at to make sure that there not going to kill me.

I just want to make sure that they're safe.

Mushrooms popping up from where? If it's your lawn or field try asking in the Mushroom Hunting forum herem but post a detailed description. If they are popping out of a cake or casing you made then there is little doubt as to what they are. Cakes aren't normally contaminated with a different species of mushroom spores...in fact I've never read or heard of it happening.

I forget who but I read on this board that somebodys uninnoculated cake got contaminated with a magical type of mushroom. It was a year or two ago I think.
