Colonized jar storage?
    #3822601 - 02/23/05 04:04 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

My one friend has a few jars that are completely (or near) colonized. She is going out of town for a few weeks and was wondering if they would be ok. She would probably need to neglect them for about a lil over two weeks. I told her that they would probably be allright, but should she at least flip them before she leaves, or should she just leave them alone for now?

Look for a dark, cool place to store them if they will be unattended for that long. 40-60F is fine for storage. Possibly an attic, basement or cellar.

I store mine in the fridge,i just wrap each jar in foil and place in the case the jars came in.ive kept them 6 months this way.As Diver said though if a fridge isnt an option for whatever reason, anywhere cool, clean and dark will work.
