First Attempt: Rye Grain and Myco Bags
    #3820793 - 02/23/05 01:30 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Im working on putting together 2 10 gallon grows w/ Rye Grain in a Mycobag, w/ 60/40 verm/coir subtrate...

I had added 600 ML grain and 550 ML h20 to 2 bags, i have them soaking for 24 hours currently, what im looking for is any suggestions to having the highest possible success.

Also, can i use a vacuum sealer instead of a impulse sealer?

I had read through the tecs and didnt find too much info.

No you can't seal bags with a vaccuum sealer unless your bags have a premade seal.

Grain is a little bit more difficult, all I can really tell you is to just give it a try and learn how to do it good thru trial and error.

You should be able to use a vacuum sealer if you don't try to use the vacuuming feature. Just use the sealing function to melt the bag closed. Otherwise the filter patch might let in enough air to interfer with sealing. My vacuum sealer won't seal until it detects a certain level of vacuum inside the bag.

I should mention that I haven't tried this myself since I own an impulse sealer.
