Organic barley...

Ive been a seasoned grower, over 10 years now.

I rarely loose a jar to contamination, and I understand there is no 100% success rate under home conditions, but still I must find out.

I lost a jar out of 3 dozen, due to what looks like endospores. Mucus like sludge with dots. Didnt open to smell for verification, but I am almost sure. Problem is, I dont experience this on mahhatma brown rice, only organic barely.

Why do I insist on experimenting with barley? Mycelia growth is that much better, for me anyways. So, I understand soaking corrects this, I guess I will have to do this with organic grains.

So, question is, is this normal for organic grains? Doesnt seem to happen at all with commercial brown rice or quaker barley. Any help would be appriciated.

that contams sounds like the one a friend gets when he dosent soak long enough and dosent PC long enough.

He said he soaks 18-24 hours and PC's for 120 minutes and never gets that contam. But when PC time is less around 100 he gets that in 1 or 2 jars outta 12
