i've tried both and they are really weak compared to hardware like the Line 6 POD XT Live.

Latency problems, or bad sound quality?

guitar rig is awesome if you have the right interface. don't even think about using it with a ibm pc and a sound card, it won't work. You need a mac or some type of high-speed firewire interface.

both, unless you have a fast computer, then it's just bad quality.

I've been piddling around with demos for both programs, and AmpliTube Live runs better on my pc with little or no noticeable latency, but whew, Guitar rig lags unbearably.
Guitar rig seems to be a little more complex w/lots of bells & whistles. I'd love to hear it on a mac.
