Troy
    #3821008 - 02/23/05 07:08 AM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Did anyone ever see the movie Troy? It is such a great movie and there isn't to many good movies around. Brad Pitt is by far I think the greatest actor. He played in some of my favorite movies.
Oh yeah King arthur was pretty good, too.

I think I still have this movie on my hard drive somewhere, I never watched it though because I heard the movie was directed towards women and gay men. Not that I'm a homophobe or anything I just don't care to see Brad Pitt dancing around in a skimpy outfit.

well, I don't care to see any man dancing around in a skimpy outfit, ever. there's not much of that, so I don't think you have to worry and pluss there are also female in skimpy outfits.

The movie wasnt bad...kind of a big budget history lesson with some added battle scenes. I personally like movies such as Braveheart much better though. Brad Pitt isnt a bad actor but it was funny how they portrayed him physically in that movie. For example, in braveheart, it actaully looked like Gibson was in battle-all dirty and rough, Brad Pitt looked like he just got out of the fucking beauty solon. And the style in which he (they) dueled 1 on 1 was kinda gay....it was like balarena fighting or something. Parawet sword attak!!! All in All, the scenery was great and it was worth watching

I enjoyed the movie, for sure, and I'm neither gay nor female. I thought it was fairly accurate and true, by the standard of big budget history movies, and very grand in scope, with some killer battle scenes. I love when Achilles wakes up, pushes his hoes aside, jogs down to the field, and then just charges that huge guy and nails him in one crazy hit.

Life's too short, man.. Life's too short. Dont hate me, and I wont put space between us. Dont lie to me, and I wont dislike you. Keep an open mind, and I'll love you.

My advice of the week(do this, you'll like it): listen to Mahogany Rush.

I haven't seen the movie, but Achilles is supposed to have been blessed by the Gods with invincibility apart from the ankle, that's probably what the film was trying to portray. Troy v. Braveheart is Myth v. History.

Okay, I saw Troy and I hated it. Yes, there were some good scenes, but overall I felt like I had wasted my money. I LOVE Brad Pitt, but I thought that his character in that movie was one big joke. All the dialogue he does in the movie is overblown and Brad can't carry it off successfully. Honestly, I thought he did the dialogue as a card-board figure might. I was never taken away by his acting in this movie because my suspension of disbelief cannot be suspended that far. Oooo, yes, he sure looked pretty didn't he...but all the good looks in the world can't make up for the stiff and groan-inducing lines his character valiantly tried to say.

Don't even get me started on Orlando Bloom's character Paris. *shudder*

The movie was actually quite a low budget film (by hollywood standards). Brad Pitt's acting was horrible through the entire movie. He was as riveting as a plank of wood. He was rivaling Keanu Reeves...

He should never attempt to play a now-it-all badd ass again.

Not that I dislike Brad Pitt because Fight Club is still one of my favorite movies, I just thought he blew goat ass in that movie.

The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, they're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away, but if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth...
