How in the hell did they do this? Does anyone know of any plans for something like this?

the simpelest way would be to hook up 2 engines, 1 to each side
and controll them individualy.
no brakes or steering neccicery...

Damn that's some awesome shit. The frame looks like a simple tubular frame, with a supercharged engine of some sort. I'm sure you figured this out as well. Someone that has a fair knowledge of building vehicles could probably make one. I'm not sure where they got the tracks for the the tank, but I'd sure like to know. With a bit of research on how tanks work and a bit of welding skills and enough loot you could build one.

yea im preaty sure those guys didnt have plans, you would need some mechanical background, money, help and more money. Iv seen old army tanks forsale befor, farmers would buy them and use them as tractors..
When in doubt check Ebay.

A single car engine would work just fine.

I would imagine something like an engine -> driveshaft -> differential -> some sort of transmission per output shaft for independant track control.

Then a simple track on some rollers. Probably the sort off a small dozer.
