Hey all, i was bored today so i scrapped out my bowl and got a decent sized resin ball out of it, ive smoked resin before, but im just wondering, out of curiosity, is resin per capita(sp?) more potent then just weed? Cuz i tend to get just as fucked up from a resin ball as like a small bowl in a bong, which is fairly ripped...

It seems to vary quite a bit.
I've had times where I've thought resin was much more potent, and other times where it wasn't that potent at all.
Or at least that's what it seems like.

if you smoke good weed, resin is definitely not as potent. resin is garbage, mostly tar and other crap. its horrible. i can't believe you'd consider smoking it. really, its disgusting.
not only tars, but its got dust and dander in it more than likely. its really gross stuff. DON'T SMOKE IT. its pathetic to do that.

resin gets you higher but in a differtant way, feels a bit "dirty" and doesnt last nealy as long.

I usually mix it up with some weed... or just hit it if the pipe won't pull.

it will definitely get you high depending on the previous(s) bowls quality - bottom line it tastes like shit and should be saved for a rainy day or a dry spell

if you get proper sweet resin, its stronger than any weed, but that stuff is usually hard to get. most street resin is adulterated, so its not as strong.

If you have actual resin, then yeah, I'd say it's more potent than most bud. But if you have pipe residue, I would seriously doubt it would be more potent. I'm not a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer, though.

Pipe resin is fairly lacking in THC and is higher in CBN and CBD, that is why the high is more sedative than psychoactive. Dont smoke this stuff please, and if you are going to smoke it, soak the resin in water to allow some crap to disipate from it. Eeeewwwwwwwwww

Resin is far more potent, it is the same as bud but without the green matter (usually hand-rubbed in eastern countries, so can contain minor amounts of pollutants such as human hair) . Bong/pipe scraped resin is shitty though, and is mostly tar.
Everyone seems to think normal resin is less healthy, but this is bullshit. I can't believe the amount of hash-bashing going on in this forum. There are many, many different kinds but it all comes down to seperating the crystals from the planty stuff (purifying!) through the use of fine meshes / hand rubbing / butane extraction(!) etc. There is less tar in resin than in good bud, so it's healthier.
If you live here in the UK, where 'resin' also means 'soapbar', it is an aromatic blend of plastic bags, leaf matter and boot polish. In Amsterdam, resins cost considerably more per gram due to their high quality.
Scapin' your pipe ain't that disgustin, but it has a very high concentration of tar, and it don't taste good. Gets you stoned too.
Your lungs can repair themselves during a break of five years. Just don't leave it too late.
BTW, after reading my post I realised that you Americans might be meaning residue, and not hash, if so I humbly skulk off in embarrassment...

 I worded that wrong... hash is wonderful.... pipe scrappings is residue, that's shitty. Hash can be made in acouple of ways.
Two traditional ways are:
making "finger hash" by simply rubbing the resonous leaves and buds of a femal plant and balling it up, this hash is dark and sticky.
you can also make "light hash" I think it's called polem or something, it's made by taking whole dried female plants and shaking them over a screen. this has can be pressed or not.

For the most part resin means two diffrent things.
In europe:
resin = hash
in america
resin = pipe scrapings

It helps to have an ashtray nearby when you toke, that way you can dump the assed part of the bowl into it and not have to worry about tasting ass. If a nugget is all charred and black but still has substance to it, dump in in the tray. Most of the THC has already been burned off so it's not even worth it to smoke the ass. But if you save up all your half-assed bowls in a tray, then scrape some of your crusty pipes on top of the burnt nugs, you have the perfect tool for hotboxing. Just get an electric heat pen from a dollar store and set it underneath all the gunk in the ash tray, sit in the bathroom with your friends and stuff a towel under the door, and stay in there until all the crap is burned or you can't breathe anymore. I do this bi-monthly. It is great.
