Just wondering if anyone has ever use enriched water in the pf tec.. For example soaking bird seed for a day then using the strained water to use in your cakes? Just thinking the added minerals may help the cake..

I haven't personally done this but I am sure that it would not be a bad thing - it might not add *that* much but it couldn't hurt, and might well do better. If you are using a good nutritious substrate anyway I don't think this'll add that much, but like I say, couldn't hurt......

Birdseed Juice??? Is that just the water you soaked/steeped the birdseed? I used alot of the water
I steeped finch seed for my last jars and they colonized faster than any others I've done. It
was also the first time I used Micron Majick Discs. I thought it was the filters.
Dimitri_ if you're still around-- what is soy based peptone??

Ive added shit tea made with bat guano & shit tea made with seabird guano to cakes which gives them a little boost in the colonizing process

I use a mixture of spring water, my own fecal matter, and my own seamen. The extra protein gives the mycelim the energy boost it really needs
Next time you beat off to internet porn, just do it into a jar, no point in wasteing it.
