shrooms & MRIs

What effect would shrooms have on an MRI? Would brain activity show up differently? More active? Weird areas of activity?

Definitely.

i rather suspect not...
CT & MRI are more "structure-related" tomographic scanning...

on the other hand, PET scanning tends to be more "functional" tomo-pics... (the emitted radiation (actually a positron, or "anti-electron") is from the "firing" of a given neuron (or group of neurons), via cellular metabolism of an ingested radio-tagged glucose syrup...)

There is fMRI (functional MRI), and I bet it will show up differences. Does anyone know an actuall study about functional imaging of the brain under psychedelics? I think Rick Strassman did PET scans of some of his subjects, and then stoped because it was very unconfortable for the subjects.

An fMRI would almost definitely reveal strange activities when on psychedelics, it would be interesting to see if this has been attempted... but I doubt it. Any one know of any related articles?

Really? Are you talking about MRI or fMRI? Don't you think fMRI would show, for example, greater activation in the occipital lobe?
